Holiday Laziness

Sorry for the long break between the posts! I have to admit, I have been very lazy around the holiday season.

Here is something new, I made this set for my niece couple weeks ago and it looks great on her! All matches :) she was very happy with it and that of course made me feel super good!

I also listed a set for kids to the Etsy shop, that one doesn't come with the gloves but it could if you wanted to!

My toughest customer by far is my daughter Scarlett. She has become quite picky about what she want's to wear. And nothing I make seems to be very popular! I have made her several hats butshe always prefers store-bought stuff! Finally I found out the trick... a deer! She loves to watch Bambi - the original one with good music - so I decided to try out the deer figure. Jackpot :D she loves her new hat and gloves. They are super warm also, hat is 100% bulky wool and gloves are double-gloves made of alpaca.

These were a little more work than my products in my store but I might do few of them for sale later on.

Lace & Mohair

Latest new hats have been lace hats made of mohair mix. My mom sent me a load of this yarn from Finland and it makes beautiful slouchy hats! I have few more colors coming ;) Had to start with the turquoise, it was so beautiful!

Sorry for the long break! Thanksgiving ended up being a really busy weekend :)

I've still been working on all the orders my family gave me while trying to come up with few new hats for the store too! The little one has been quite demanding lately so I have to use every minute I have after she is asleep at night ;)

Thanksgiving sale went nicely and I got couple orders. Cowls seemed to be the item for couple days. I'm currently working on finding a new yarn for more cowls and getting an order in for that.

New Designs

I have added couple more designs to my shop this week. One has little berries on it, black berries or cloudberries ;) My daughter keeps feeling them and calls them just "bumps". Here's the berry hat.

Latest design I have is stripes. But not just plain stripes, they come with a cool little stitch. To me this looks just like a little tiny bird's toes :D haha, silly me. Well I named the hat Sparrow's Toes anyways :) I love those little birds.

These stripes I can make in any color you can imagine! So much options with this lovely yarn :) It's 85% wool and 15% mohair. We had family over last night and my niece just fell in love with this hat in white, pink and turquoise. I had just made her the hat with buds and a cowl to go with it in aqua but now she wants this one too :) I got lots orders from them all!

Today I will have a no-knitting-day and we will all go to children's museum. Should be fun :)

Well here starts the blog! Wild Cloudberry is my first and only Etsy shop :) I have been buying and browsing Etsy for few years now and one night, about a month ago, I decided to set up my own shop! I had just come up with a really cute knit hat .. I was planning on knitting just one hat for my daughter but I thought this hat was cute enough to be spread around ;) I'm really picky about what I like knitting wise but this model I really fell in love with. I remembered seeing someone wearing a cute hat with leaves and started trying to knit one. It took a while to get it perfect!

I have made that of several different yarns and you can find them all on my shop. My favorite is the wool/mohair which is in this picture also. It's so warm! This yarn compliments the design really nicely.

So that's where it started :) I have been working on getting more hats done, also added couple cowls/neck warmers to my shop. I have vouple more models I'm working on for neck warmers so more about those later on!

I will try and update the blog couple times a week to tell about new items and other hopefully interesting things!
